About HayMan Designs:
I am calling myself an “open-source graphic artist”, meaning I try to use tools that are free and maintained by a community. When possible, I donate to their efforts. I have done professional and freelance work as my own time allows. I hope you enjoy my work.
Logo Work
Here are some examples of the logo work I have done. There are a few more that I’ll have to dig out of hiding. I’ll be adding more as I make them.
Kodiak

This was a logo picture I made that ultimately was not used. I used an actual picture and then used a series of filters to create this effect. Then I went pixel by pixel to clean it up.
CD Cover

This was for the band ‘Big Steve and the Trainwreck’ — their 2nd CD “Hoodoo Eyes”. I designed the whole CD, this is just the front cover. I may include the rest at a later date. The same with “No Turnin’ Back”.
CD Cover

This was for the band ‘Big Steve and the Trainwreck’ — their 3rd CD “No Turnin’ Back”.
Dot Wars

HayMan Games game logo for “Dot Wars”. This was the first game logo I made. I used Microsoft Paint from Windows XP for this. I may re-do this one, especially since the caption is out-dated.
Freighters

I can’t remember if I used the GIMP or JASC for this one. This was the second game logo I made for HayMan Games. I made matching menu buttons, too.
RoadRageous

I recently made this logo for HayMan Games. I also made an animation for this, but you’ll have to wait for the game’s first release to see it. I used GIMP for this one.
WheatzVille

I also recently made this for HayMan Games. I was really happy with the way this one turned out. Made with GIMP.
2007 Jeep JK 4 Door

Here’s one I dug out of an old email account! I did this drawing for a website, but I don’t know if it was used. I did this back in June 2008. I drew the pic, then scanned it into the computer, then colored it with JASC photo. I saved it as a JPG and lost some quality. I think I’ll recolor it one of these days. If I find out the website it was supposed to be used on, I’ll be sure to post it here. I fell in love with this rig while I was learning how to draw it. Now I want one. Still. Three years later.
Here are some logos I made for free for members of a forum I had frequented.
StrangeOne101 Games

My first request from the aforementioned forum. Thanks, StrangeOne101! This one was fun to do. I used GIMP. The font is “shears”, a free font offered by sugargliderz.
Lost Neuron Productions

Another request from the aforementioned forum. I really enjoyed making this one, too. I’m a big fan of the old green monochrome monitors of the 80’s and this was a treat to create. The font is a free font called ‘ARCADE’ by Yuji Adachi that I found from Dafont.com.
Gauge Productions

Forum request #3. I like the way this one turned out, but I’m not quite sure if the tornado image is actually free, as I don’t know if the website is legitimate. I found the picture at http:/free-extras.com/search/1/tornado.htm — I created the lightning from scratch with GIMP filters. The font is a free font called “Saved By Zero” by Larabie found at MyFonts.com. I rotated the second ‘g’ in ‘gauge’ 180 degrees to make it look like a small ‘g’. It took some doing, but it turned out quite well. I used some filters on the text to change it’s appearance and make it stand out more. That’s pretty much it.
Neon Games

Forum logo request #4. Besides the font, this one is a total GIMP creation. In other words, I didn’t use any pictures in this one. The font is a free font called ‘BPneon’ found at dafont.com. I had to remember to create a transparency in the modified layers to be able to erase the corners out of this one. Had me stumped for a bit.

After I finished the one that says “presents” on it, the requester wanted another one without “presents” on it. That was a very easy adjustment that took all of 5 minutes to accomplish. So here’s 2 for the price of 1 — Free!! (lol)
And that’s it for the freebies. I took some more ‘free’ requests, but failed to deliver as my life got extremely busy with more important business. My sincerest apologies to those who missed out. When that spare time comes back around, I’ll see if you still want your logo made. 🙂
Flint Rasmussen

I did these two for the Pendleton Round-Up Association. They hired me to draw up a couple shots of Flint Rasmussen, the famous rodeo clown, for their 2011 kid’s coloring book. They wanted a close up for the cover and the second one for a 2-page centerfold.

HayMan Quarterly

Of course, I’ve done all my own logos as well. I’ve already listed my game logos above. Here’s another game logo and my site logos.

How To Request A Logo From HayMan Designs
I am taking requests for payment only at this time as I am busy with HayMan Games projects. Thanks for your interest. —Marc
I will make static logos and banners. I’m not doing animations at this time. Just explain what you want and I’ll do my best. No work I do is final because you may want something changed or just different. I work at my own pace and I’ll make a queue list edit on the request forum board if I get multiple requests. Payment will be discussed at the time of request.
In your request please include:
Size (length & width in pixels).
Shape (round, rectangle, triangle, horizontal or vertical oval, wagon-shaped, etc.)
Text to be on logo.
Font style.
Overall style and concept. (For example: Sci-Fi, Horror, Bright, Cartoony, etc.)
Anything else that will help describe what you want.
Please be very descriptive with what you want. The more idea I get of what you want, the closer I can come to making it right. If you are satisfied and you intend to use it, it’s all yours, but I reserve the right to post the image on my website for my portfolio. Also, I would like to be credited for my work. Please show credit as:

HayMan Recommendations (This section will soon be moved to it’s own page.)
The GIMP is an excellent FREE image manipulation program. It’s got a bit of a learning curve to it, but it’s a powerful tool. Plus, it’s fully documented and is constantly being developed and updated. It’s free. Did I mention that it’s free? 🙂
Photoscape is a FREE photo editing software for manipulating photos. I’m not very familiar with it except for the GIF animator that comes with it. The easy and intuitive GIF animator creates animated GIFs by using multiple photos to create a final animated photo. Photoscape is also fully documented and under constant development. It’s free. Free, I tell ya. 🙂
TextureMate is an awesome website offering free textures. A must-have bookmark for the open-source graphic artists.
Dafont.com is a beautifully organized website of free, freeware, shareware, and personal use fonts available for download. Over 12,000 fonts!
More recommendations to come as I find them.
